Chief Operating Officer

The Chief Operating Officer (COO) of the Aruba Food & Beverage Association is a senior leadership role responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the organization, driving the achievement of key objectives, and maintaining effective communication with the Board. The COO will play a pivotal role in advancing the mission and goals of the association within the vibrant food and beverage industry of Aruba.

Key Responsibilities

1. Strategic Leadership:

  • Collaborate with the Board to develop and implement strategic plans, ensuring alignment with the association's mission and vision.

  • Provide visionary leadership to the organization, identifying emerging trends and opportunities within the food and beverage industry.

 

2. Operational Management:

  • Oversee the daily operations of the Aruba Food & Beverage Association, including financial management, administrative processes, and program execution.

  • Develop and manage budgets, monitor financial performance, and optimize resource allocation.

 

3. Stakeholder Engagement:

  • Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with members, industry stakeholders, government entities, and partner organizations.

  • Promote the association's initiatives and services to enhance its value to members and the broader community.

 

4. Advocacy and Representation:

  • Serve as a spokesperson for the association, representing its interests at industry events, meetings, and with the media.

  • Advocate for policies and regulations that benefit the food and beverage industry in Aruba.

 

5. Membership Development:

  • Lead efforts to attract, retain, and engage members, ensuring their needs are met and that the association delivers value to its diverse membership base.

 

6. Collaborative Leadership:

  • Work closely with other team members to foster a collaborative and productive work environment.

  • Support staff development and mentorship to build a high-performing team.

 

7. Communication and Reporting:

  • Maintain transparent and effective communication with the Board, providing regular updates on the association's activities, financial health, and progress toward strategic goals.

 

8. Compliance and Governance:

  • Ensure the organization operates in compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and governance requirements.

  • Support the Board in the development and maintenance of effective governance policies and practices.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in business management, hospitality, or a related field.

  • In-depth knowledge of the food and beverage industry in Aruba.

  • Strong financial acumen and experience with budget management.

  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.

  • Advocacy and public speaking experience is a plus.

  • Fluent in English Papiamento and Dutch; knowledge of Spanish is a plus.

  • Passion for the mission and goals of the Aruba Food & Beverage Association.
