A Major Milestone at Aruba Airport: A Smoother Journey for U.S.-Bound Passengers

17th of June 2025 marks a historic milestone at Aruba Airport that will significantly enhance the travel experience for passengers flying to the United States.

As of 17th of June 2025, all U.S. airlines are officially operating out of the new U.S. check-in hall. This upgrade brings with it a more streamlined and efficient departure process.

Most notably, two major steps in the U.S. departure process have now been eliminated:

  • No more picking up checked bags before U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) and placing them back on the belt.

  • The second security checkpoint (previously located before the stairs to the departure gates) has been removed.

These changes are designed to reduce stress and save time, improving the overall passenger experience from check-in to gate.

Enhanced E-Gate Access for Local Residents

In addition to the new check-in hall, the e-gates at outbound Aruba immigration have been upgraded. Adult local residents (18+) holding Dutch passports can now use the e-gates, offering a faster and more convenient exit process. (Please note: If traveling with children, families will still need to be processed by an Aruba Immigration officer.)

Improved Passenger Flow with a Color-Coded Staggering System

To further support efficient operations, the airport has introduced a color-coded staggering system for U.S.-bound passengers. This system helps manage check-in times and prevent crowding during peak hours. [Attach or link to the explanation of the color-coded system.]

We also look forward to additional improvements at the U.S. CBP checkpoint by the end of this year, which will further enhance the efficiency and comfort of the U.S. departure process.

Congratulations to Aruba Airport Authority N.V. on this remarkable achievement. Today’s developments are a proud step forward in positioning Aruba as a world-class travel destination with top-tier airport services.
