Así es mi Perú Aruba Earns Prestigious “Authentic Peruvian Cuisine” Certification

We at the Aruba Food and Beverage Association (AFBA) are thrilled to celebrate one of our valued members, Así es mi Perú Aruba, for receiving the prestigious “Authentic Peruvian Cuisine” certification — a recognition that honors culinary excellence, authenticity, and dedication to Peruvian traditions.

What This Certification Means

The “Authentic Peruvian Cuisine” certification is an initiative of the University of San Ignacio de Loyola (USIL), in partnership with PromPerú and supported by Marca Perú. Its mission is to preserve the cultural and culinary value of Peruvian gastronomy worldwide, promote the use of Peruvian ingredients abroad, and ensure diners experience the true essence of Peruvian cuisine.

Internationally, this recognition has been granted to renowned Peruvian restaurants in Washington, Miami, Tokyo, São Paulo, Madrid, Lisbon, and more — and now, Aruba proudly joins that list!

A Proud Moment for Así es mi Perú Aruba

On October 1st, during a special ceremony in Lima, Peru, Roxanna Salinas, owner of Así es mi Perú Aruba, received the official certification plaque from Sandra Zubieta, Dean of the Faculty of Hospitality Management, Tourism, and Gastronomy at USIL. The restaurant met all certification requirements, including:

• Using genuine Peruvian ingredients

• Adhering to traditional recipes

• Presenting dishes that honor Peru’s rich culinary heritage

The evaluation panel, led by Chef Olga Castro and Alejandra Longa, also praised the restaurant for its vibrant Peruvian décor, curated selection of Peruvian beers and wines, and inclusion of the iconic Inca Kola — perfectly complementing classic dishes like ceviche, chupe, lomo saltado, and pescado a lo macho.

This certification places Así es mi Perú Aruba among the leading global ambassadors of Peruvian cuisine, showcasing the richness and diversity of Peru’s culinary traditions on the international stage. It’s a proud moment not only for the restaurant but also for Aruba’s dining scene.
