On June 12th, excitement filled the air as the Aruba Food and Beverage Association (AFBA) opened the doors to its highly anticipated Job Fair at the Aruba Renaissance Convention Center. This year marked the third edition of the event, promising a wealth of career opportunities in the Horeca (hotel, restaurant, and café) and hospitality sectors.
Months of meticulous planning culminated in a sprawling showcase, with AFBA expanding to occupy the entire Convention Center. This strategic decision ensured ample space for both exhibitors and visitors, fostering meaningful interactions and opportunities.
The response was overwhelming, with over 1,200 individuals pre-registering to attend, each equipped with a unique QR code for seamless entry. Miriam Dabian, COO of AFBA, expressed her enthusiasm, noting a significant increase in interest compared to previous years. "There is tremendous enthusiasm among job seekers, and our participating companies are eager to showcase diverse employment prospects," she remarked.
This year's roster of exhibitors included esteemed names such as The Ritz Carlton Aruba, Eagle Resort, Iberostar, Casa Tua Restaurant, KFC, and G.C. Group, among others. The presence of allied members like Compra, Tropical Bottling Company, and Elite Production added further depth to the opportunities presented.
Beyond job offerings, the Job Fair served as a hub for valuable information and resources. Government agencies such as DPL and Dimas were on hand to provide essential insights, while educational institutions like Eseñanza pa Empleo and Openbare Avondleergangen Aruba (OAA) highlighted specialized courses within the Horeca sector.
The event also featured participation from employment service agencies Tempo and Admar, enhancing networking opportunities and support for job seekers.
With more than 2,500 registrations and attendees, AFBA's Job Fair 2024 exceeded expectations, underscoring its pivotal role in connecting Aruba's workforce with meaningful career paths in hospitality.
Stay tuned for updates and highlights from AFBA as we continue to champion career growth and industry excellence in Aruba's dynamic job market.
